Chicago's Fifth Annual Premier Teddy Bear Century Ride! This is a no drop ride up to Wisconsin and back.
Further information:
Purpose: We want to make sure that everyone can experience an intimidation-free 100 mile ride.
Pace: The pace will be as slow as necessary to keep the group together.
Route: 100 miles on asphalt, including over 15 miles on bike paths, and minimizing heavy traffic routes. There will be stops for coffee, lunch, and snacks.
Sag vehicle: We are looking for volunteers to drive a sag vehicle to carry warm clothes (see below) and to be available to help with mechanical difficulties
Be prepared for cold weather: jackets, gloves, shoe covers, hats, and knee warmers are suggested
Post-ride meetup: TBD
Bears: We all ride with a Teddy Bear on our bikes. A small Teddy Bear will be given to each rider who RSVPs. A $10 donation is requested to pay for the Teddy Bear (plus an extra to be donated to the Lurie's Children's Hospital)
Please make sure your bike is in good working condition. See the checklist at http://www.active.com/cycling/articles/10-essential-bike-checks-before-you-ride
