The Chicago Tri Club supports the Chicago area triathlon community by organizing volunteers for races and triathlon related events in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. We also encourage and support our members in working with other organizations promoting sports and fitness.
Volunteering
As part of the Racing and Volunteering (RAV) program, CTC members earn points for volunteering at races and other events. For a list of races where volunteers can earn points, refer to the Race Calendar. If you volunteer at a race, click on the
after the race name to add yourself to the list of volunteers.
CTC also selects Volunteer Focus Races for the Club to support as a group. These focus races earn 3 RAV points vs. the normal 1 RAV point for volunteering. For these events, members should add their name to the volunteer list prior to the race, and our volunteer coordinator will contact you with further information. For all other races, members should volunteer directly through the race’s web site or race director.

Community Involvement
In addition to volunteering at races, CTC encourages our members to give back to the community by supporting, through CTC or on an individual basis, other organizations that promote health and fitness. Of particular interest are those organizations which encourage youth participation in the sport of triathlon.
Below is a list of organizations we believe can benefit from the knowledge, experience, and resources, of CTC and our members. These organizations should be considered by members who are looking to donate time or financial support to worthy causes.
Tri-Masters
Tri-Masters is a not-for-profit organization that empowers at-risk children via triathlon in order to teach life lessons. As their youth athletes learn to swim, bike and run, they gain skills in goal-setting, conflict resolution, respect, responsibility, self-discipline and perseverance.
Alive with Mission Me
Alive with MissionMe! (AMM), is a not-for-profit organization [501(c)(3)] committed to combating childhood obesity and putting the fun back into physical activity by developing in-school curricula and after-school programs to foster participation in MultiSport. AMM’s curricula are aligned with the Physical Education Standards set by the National Association of Sports and Physical Education (NASPE) and are adapted to USA Triathlon competencies. AMM also is an Official Education Resource for USA Triathlon.
Members of CTC can register for any of the AMM workshops and clinics. Our audience has included parents, teachers, USAT coaches, and fitness professionals, all with one interest in common – the children. AMM is designing a Youth Certification Process which will allow participants to garner not only the knowledge of and hands-on experience with youth in multisport, but arm them with the ability to produce clinics, camps, and workshops on their own.
