HIT THE OPEN WATER FROM EAST BANK CLUB’S DOCK ON THE RIVER.
East Bank Club has teamed up with Chicago kayak tour company Wateriders to provide guided programs and boat rentals from their dock. Enjoy incredible views of the city and an excellent workout. All members and their guests receive a 35% discount.
WHO: Members of Chicago Triathlon Club and friends are welcome
WHAT: Private guided kayak tour. NOTE: all bookings are for seats, not for kayaks. Wateriders has a limited number of each, and cannot guarantee a single kayak or a double kayak, although they will try their best to accommodate everyone's desired boat.
WHEN and WHERE: Monday, May 27th.
Location: Riverwalk, 500 N Kingsbury St, Chicago - behind the East Bank Club!
Arrive on dock at 3:00 pm, start 3:10pm, ending sometime between 5 and 5:30 pm. **Can not hold the boats for late comers.
TOUR: This tour takes guests along the North, South and Main Branches of the Chicago River, for a total of just under 4 miles of paddling over ~1.5 hours. There is no narrated portion, however, guides accompany the group in order to help navigate traffic and to assist with paddling and having a good time.
HOW: Non-narrated private tours on weekends run at $50 per person plus tax; with the East Bank Club member (Julie Hicks) discount, we are looking at $35.43 per person, including tax.
WHY: Memorial Day weekend fun. Afterwards, head over to the river walk and have a drink at the Chicago Winery. (expect big crowds). Julie will guide you to the winery for all interested.
DEADLINE: Hard cut-off of Tuesday, May 21st. Maximum 32 participants. Minimum 8 people.
EXTRA’s: Can use restrooms immediately inside East Bank Club as your changing room. There is also a small store where you can purchase water, drinks and food.
